Villiersdorp

Overview

Villiersdorp is a leisurely 90 minutes drive from Cape Town.  Founded in 1843 the village still holds some of the old French Huguenot colonial character. Cushioned by the Baviaans and Waterval mountains  and with vineyards, fruit and olive groves it is a beautiful place to visit. The town is also close to the Theewaterskloof dam.

Villiersdorp and surroundings offers a variety accommodation options and fun activities. Take a drive through the scenic Elandskloof and go for  wine tasting and lunch that the Kelkiewyn Café. The  Aphrodisiac Shack is popular for picnics and the Ou Meul Restaurant serves a hearty breakfasts.

For the sporty outdoor inclined, activities such as moutainbiking, 4x4 routes and birding are on the must do  list. The Theewaterskloof dam is  a popular destination for fresh water fishing, sailing and canoeing. Do contact the Theewater Sailing Academy who provides regular adult & youth sailing courses. The golf course at the Theewatersklof Country Estate is rated one of the top nine hole courses in the country and well worth it.
