Caledon is located about 113 kilometres east of Cape Town next to mineral-rich hotsprings around which the town originally grew around in 1797. The Caledon district is primarily an agricultural region which involve mostly grain production and stock farming.
The Venster Kloof Nature Garden, also known as Caledon Wildflower Garden is a beautiful space to relax in and spend some quality time with your loved ones. The gardens have lovely views over Caledon and a few rest stops to enjoy the landscape and plants.
Horse riding is also a very popular activity in the area and arrangements can be made at a number of places to saddle up and go for a ride. You can also experience fun zip lines as you glide amongst the vegetation, fynbos and wildlife. There are also quad bike trails in abundance if you enjoy cruising around the outdoors on four wheels.
The mineral rich hot springs draw many tourists each year and offer the guests long, relaxing soaks daily. The hot springs produce more than a million liters of water a day. That’s plenty to go around for everyone. The Caledon Casino has also become a popular attraction of late and offers entertainment for the whole family.
